Mount a Mullion Reader on a Single-Gang Box
Because mullion readers are narrower than a standard single-gang box, installing one directly over the box can leave portions of the opening, drywall or mounting area exposed.
The Reader Guard solves that problem.
When used as part of the installation, the Reader Guard provides the additional coverage needed to conceal the single-gang box and surrounding gaps, allowing the slimmer Liberty / Wavelynx mullion reader to be installed with a clean, finished appearance. That means the Reader Guard performs multiple functions in one simple component: reader protection, installation coverage and a professional finished mounting surface.
Covers Paint Lines, Drywall Gaps & Previous Installation Marks
The larger footprint behind the reader also helps conceal paint lines, drywall cracks, wall imperfections, previous mounting holes and installation marks that may otherwise remain visible around a narrow mullion reader.
This can eliminate unnecessary drywall or paint repair while producing a cleaner finished installation.
